About Remutaka Midis


Remutaka Midis is a junior football programme for girls and boys aged 7–9 years (Under 8s & Under 9s), based in Upper Hutt.

The programme is designed to give young players a fun, supportive place to play football, build confidence, develop ball skills, and enjoy being part of a team environment.

Whether your child is completely new to football, wants to play with their mates, make some new friends, or further develop their existing skills, Remutaka Midis is designed to be welcoming and inclusive.

No previous football experience is required — all ability levels are welcome.


It is important to note that Remutaka FC is not currently affiliated with Capital Football. This means Remutaka Midis teams will not participate in the monthly “Fun Football Carnivals” organised by Capital Football.

We want to be open about this so whānau understand exactly what the programme includes.

The focus at this age remains fun first, helping players build confidence, friendships, and a love of the game.

What to expect


Sessions are age-appropriate and designed to keep players engaged, active, and enjoying the game.


Children will take part in a mix of:

  • fundamental ball skills and movement activities

  • small-sided games and skill-based drills

  • teamwork and confidence-building activities

  • game-based learning to help players apply their skills

  • opportunities to play friendly matches with other Hutt Valley teams where possible

  • opportunities for teams who wish to do so to enter local football tournaments

The emphasis at this age is on participation, enjoyment, and development, rather than formal competition.


When & Where


Season dates: Sunday 3 May – Sunday 23 August 2026

  • Sessions run weekly across the season

  • There will be one weekend break during the July school holidays

  • 16 sessions delivered across the 17-week period

Location: NZCIS – New Zealand Campus of Innovation and Sport, Upper Hutt

Programme cost & Time


The cost for the Remutaka Minis 2026 season is:

  • Under 8's & Under 9's - $110 per season I 1pm - 2pm (Sunday)
